The 2025 Philippines Cloud and Data Center Convention (PHCDC 2025) kicked off in Manila on March 18, buzzing with talk about the country’s "Digital Philippines" push. Wing Cheung, President & CEO of Beeinfotech PH—a top player in computing infrastructure—took the stage with a keynote called "AIDC: Empowering the Digital Future of the Philippines." He dug into why a strong digital economy and solid infrastructure matter so much for where the country’s headed, sharing his take on how the Philippines can make the most of the digital wave.

Riding the Digital Tide: Powering "Digital Philippines" with Next-Level Computing

Wing made a case for why the Philippines is ready to go big on digital. He pointed to the huge number of people online, better mobile networks, a growing web of submarine cables, and the government’s serious spending on digitization. The numbers back him up: digital banking’s wide open now, more than 78% of government services are online, and the digital economy’s chipping in over 10% to GDP—and it’s still climbing. Manila’s clearly all-in on this digital shift.

But here’s the catch, Wing said—none of it works without the right computing backbone. Building data centers that can handle tomorrow’s demands isn’t easy. You’ve got security headaches, power that costs a fortune, energy use that’s through the roof, and a lot of “what-ifs” to wrestle with. His fix? Three big moves: roll out flexible, modular setups that can scale fast and handle AI; use AI to keep operations sharp and costs down while training up the right people; and put energy efficiency front and center, leaning on hyperscale AI clusters to manage the crazy demand for power and water.

HIVE Hybrid Data Center: The Engine Behind Digital Growth

That same day, March 18, they flipped the switch on the HIVE Hybrid Data Center—one of the biggest carrier-neutral spots in the Philippines. It’s got room for over 3,600 high-density racks, built to tough Tier 3+ standards, and it’s ready to serve local governments, businesses, and global cloud giants alike. Wing called it a "smart bridge" linking East Asia and Southeast Asia, a hub that’ll spark trade and cultural ties across the region.

HIVE’s got some clever tricks up its sleeve, too—pre-cooled stations, power modules, micro-modular designs, slick high-voltage power systems, and smart lighting that keeps energy use in check. That kind of ingenuity snagged it the "Best Data Center Digital Technology Application" award at the 2024 Asia Pacific Cloud Computing & Data Center Awards.

Teamwork for a Digital Win

Wrapping up, Wing put out a call to action: governments, companies, schools, and communities need to team up to make this digital ecosystem thrive. Beeinfotech PH isn’t slowing down—they’re pouring money into AI, cloud tech, and big data, plus building up the talent to match. With HIVE as the cornerstone, they’re set to bring fast, secure, and green computing to businesses worldwide, giving Southeast Asia a serious boost in the digital race.
